I’m Gavin, a software engineer in Austin. For the last eight years or so, most of my day-to-day work has been in React front-end codebases.
My career has taken me through Microsoft, Amazon, Bazaarvoice, and Tanium before I boomeranged back to Microsoft. I’ve worked on different products and teams along the way, but I keep running into the same opportunities to simplify how enterprise software gets built and make it less frustrating to use.
I like fixing the things a team has learned to work around, whether that’s an awkward development workflow, a part of the codebase everyone avoids, or UX that makes people think harder than it should.
Outside work, I spend time in my home lab and build small projects around whatever has caught my attention.
